About The Artist

Mark Weleski is an artist, most recognized for large stretched canvas paintings as well as impeccable realism. He was born and raised in the Natrona Heights area of Pittsburgh, earning a degree in art education, as well as a masters in studio art. Weleski has used his talents to teach art for 40+ years in the high school and college classrooms.

Weleski has been featured in numerous juried shows, including, but not limited to, the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Andy Warhol Museum, Society of Contemporary Crafts (Pittsburgh), Westmoreland Museum of American Art, State Museum of Pennsylvania (Harrisburg), and the Erie Art Museum. He has received numerous awards through his career, including Best of Show, Ned J. Nakles Award for Excellence in Oil/Acrylic, The Buncher Family Foundation Award and the Hoyt Institute Merit award. Weleski is part of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, as well as the Pittsburgh Society of Artists and Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.


Commission work is available upon request, including portraiture in various mediums.
